Competitor research dashboard

Claude scrapes your competitors, compares you head-to-head across 7 areas, and builds one interactive dashboard: where you're weak, what to steal, how to beat them.

Setup — 60 seconds

  1. Open Claude (claude.ai, any plan). Start a new chat.
  2. Paste the prompt below.
  3. Drop in your details — replace everything in [brackets]. Three to five competitors is the sweet spot.
  4. Hit go. If Claude can browse, it pulls the profiles itself. If it can't, paste the competitor's bio, last 10 posts and pricing page as text — it works the same.

What you get

  • One dashboard, not a wall of text — three lists on top, the 7-area table, one tab per competitor.
  • The lists are ranked, so you know what to fix first.
  • "What to steal" is specific enough to paste into your next post or page.

Make it sharper

  • Paste the competitor's last 10 posts as text even if Claude can browse. Feeds are messy; pasted text is exact.
  • Ask a follow-up: "Rewrite my homepage hero using the two strongest things you found."
  • Run it again in 30 days and ask Claude to diff the two dashboards.
Honest note: the dashboard is only as good as what Claude could see. If a competitor's numbers aren't public, the cell says "no data" — that's the prompt working, not failing.
The prompt
You are my competitive intelligence analyst. Be direct. No compliments, no filler.

MY BUSINESS
What I sell, to whom, where: [e.g. AI video ads and lead systems for service businesses in Croatia]
My website / main profile: [link]
What I think my edge is: [one line]

COMPETITORS (3–5)
1. [Name] — [website] — [LinkedIn / Instagram / X / Reddit links]
2. [Name] — [links]
3. [Name] — [links]

TASK
1. Research each competitor from the links above and anything public you can find. If you cannot browse, work only from what I pasted and say so.

2. Compare us head-to-head across these 7 areas:
   - OFFER: what they sell, price, guarantee, packaging
   - POSITIONING: who it's for, the promise, the enemy they name
   - CONTENT: what they post, how often, which formats get engagement
   - PROOF: testimonials, numbers, case studies, logos
   - FUNNEL: how a stranger becomes a customer — steps, CTAs, lead magnets
   - AUDIENCE: who follows them, size, engagement quality
   - WEAK SPOTS: complaints, gaps, topics they avoid, slow replies
For each area: what they do / what I do / who wins and why — one line each.

3. Then give me three ranked lists:
   - WHERE I'M WEAK — ranked by how much it is costing me
   - WHAT TO STEAL — specific, copyable moves (a hook, a page section, an offer structure), not "post more"
   - HOW TO BEAT THEM — angles they cannot easily copy

4. Build all of it as ONE interactive dashboard (HTML artifact):
   - the three lists at the top
   - a head-to-head table for the 7 areas
   - one tab per competitor with their profile, quotes and links
Use real quotes and links wherever you have them.

RULES
- If you have no data for a cell, write "no data". Never guess.
- Mark anything you inferred (not observed) with (inferred).
- Keep every line under 20 words.
